Trip Update from SC

I am checking in and thought it best to copy all.

 

What has changed since we last exchanged any significant correspondence is that Allen Murphy will have a smaller group and has suggested we combine his and the Summerville group wherever it makes sense.  We are happy to pool ourselves and offer what we can where we can be the most good.

 

This may have an impact on housing.  The price of the "Pearl" is more than most in our group would like to pay and we do have a preference for staying together.  We do recognize the difficulty increases as group size increases, so if very economical opportunities emerge that require some flexibility, we are open to any recommendations.  As the team lead for Summerville group, I do want to have opportunity to have some time together each day even if sleeping accommodations are not all at one site.

 

With 17 from Summerville and 6 from North Shelby, I certainly remain open to consider some type of project in addition to VBS, but VBS remains the #1 priority and if all are needed for that, count on us all.

 

In recent conversation with the Summerville group, all were in agreement that we would like to offer whatever may be helpful in the afternoons at Cesar and Emma's or in the neighborhood.  We might try to arrange that for Monday through Thursday and this could be something that does not require the entire group each afternoon.  If that were the case, this could allow everybody a couple of afternoons for beach time or something similar.

 

Since our Summerville group will arrive Friday evening the 3rd, it is likely we would make our downtown visit Saturday the 4th since the departure on the 11th is so early.

 

I would like to pose a question here about that Saturday night, July 4.  Does it make sense to try to arrange something that would bring together our group with the group that will be traveling to Summerville from Curacao?

You suggested that "Skype" is a program that allows us to talk over the Internet.  We will look into that this week and get set up here very soon.  I would like to arrange for us to have a few conversations starting later this month to assist us in our planning.

 

Really looking forward to being with all at VBS this Summer.
